Odisha High Level Clearance
Authority (HLCA) chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has cleared six major
industrtial project proposals worth Rs26,000 crore including the proposal for
an Energy Academy at Sonepur near Berhampur city in Ganjam District to create trained
manpower for the energy and oil sector. Sonepur Energy and Oil City Pvt. Ltd. (SEC) had proposed a petroleum complex and an Energy Academy at Sonepur in Ganjam district, and the HLCA has cleared the Energy Academy in its recent meeting. The Energy Academy, which would train and produce professionals for the coal and energy sectors, would be the first of its kind in the state.
