  1. Dear Tripathy Babu,

Please raise this issue to the concerned authority about the development of Greater Berhampur.

1.Berhampur Municipality Corporation (BMC) needs to launch website immediately as like BBSR BMC.
2.Inauguration of STPI and 1st Flyover Bridge of Berhampur to Public.
3.Site selection finalization of IIIT- Berhampur as declared 100 acres by CM & Minister Surya Patro.
4.NH-217 By-Pass Road survey completion and initiation. Presently ASKA Road is so busy and facing many accidents due to heavy traffic.
5.To include Hinjilicut in Greater Berhampur as it is just 15 km away from Berhampur. Hinjilicut is the 2nd most population town in Ganjam district after Berhampur as 2001 census.(Greater BAM should be BCGH-Berhampur, Chatrapur, Gopalpur and Hinjilicut)
6.Converting Berhampur MKCG Hospital to AIIMS Level.
7.There was a plan to shift present BBSR airport to BBSR outskirts, if this is the case it should locate a place in between Bhubaneswar and Berhampur to serve both the Corporations in a better way.
8.Pharmacy College at Mahuda is the oldest pharmacy college in Orissa. Initially it was started from Hinjilicut Science College by Late Brundban Nayak and subsequently shifted to the place Mahuda. This needs to be converted to University status as like UCE- Burla.
9.Website of Parala Maharaja Engg. College-Berhampur which is starting from this year 2009-10.
10.To Start Police Commissionerate for Greater Berhampur as like BBSR-CTC Commissionerate.
    11. Completion of Berhampur Stadium which is half-way now and to initiate for a Indoor Stadium.

  2. Dear Shri Sahu,
Glad to know your deep concerns for Berhampur city. The issues that you have pointed out need to be raised in all forums and communicated to all concerned till they are addressed. I am already working on some of these issues. Inclusion of Hinjilicut in Greater Berhampur is quite logical and we should work towards that.

  4. Dear Tripathy and Ajay Babu

It is great to see such blog for berhampur. I was searching for berhampur municipality site and I hit your blog. It is really good.

All the points memioned by Ajay babu are valid. We need to work out on this if we really want to see Berhampur map on world arena.

Apart from this I want to add one more point. This is

    CLEAN AND GREEN BERHAMPUR.

Regarding this these days I am talking with Mayor,Comminisinor,BDA,MLA.

We few friends planned to plant One Lakh trees across berhampur. We have laid out a plan and shared with all officers. Though they agree on this need lots of follow up to make this success. I am trying my best by dailying following up. I am on vacatin for 2 weeks so did something. But if someone can take this charge would be a great help. Municipality have their own plan but I am sure it will be like any other political drama. At the end very little things will be achieved. Need real visonary people to build out beauty Berhampur.

Here is our sample site : http://greenbam.webs.com/apps/members/

Plese join and help us to make this success.

    Thanks and Regards

  5. Dear All, I am indeed happy with the pro-active approach of yours. I cannot agree with its relevance more and hope that this helps in furthering the cause of making Berhampur a glorious success story and a city with substance. We can't afford to fail any more and I can see the urge for change. On your specific suggestions, I will get back with what we can do on each of these issues.Plantation drive is a great idea and let's talk to some local NGOs and see if anyone of these can execute it honestly. Apart from this, the IIIT at Berhampur should be on the top of our agenda for now, else the state govt will again locate it somewhere else. So, for all of us the journey continues.
