#Brahmapur_ITI once again was acclaimed globally for its innovative designs of cost effective equipment to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic.

# Odisha #Chief_Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy and Chairman of Odisha Skill Development Authority, (#OSDA) Subrato Bagchi appreciated the UVC Sanitisor designed and developed by the ITI Brahmapur.

# The newly designed UVC sanitizer machine was installed at the conference hall of the Chief Secretary and office of Chairman OSDA and SDET Department.

# Notably, #Prime_Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union #Skill_Development Minister Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey too have already appreciated the low cost UVC sanitizer and put it in innovation club joining hands in the coronavirus fight.

# Speaking of its functionality, ITI Principal Prof R Panigrahi said that to make the chamber safer and to prevent from any radiation outside the chamber, an unserviceable microwave oven is used so that any infected device can be put inside the chamber for fifteen minutes.

# Timer circuit is being provided which automatically cut off supply to the UV light, Panigrahi said.

# The UVC lamp is reliable, well studied anti micro logical technology and works primarily by destroying the DNA inside bacteria, virus and fungi. The high energy portion of UV-C is highly effective.

# The principle is used to sanitize drinking water in the water filters. By this all the electronic gadgets, face masks, PPEs can be easily disinfected.

# Applying this technology thousands of unused microwave ovens can easily be transformed to UV sanitizer which is the need of the hour, Prof Panigrahi said.
