The Berhampur Police is set to get a modern control room. The Police Housing Corporation is spending Rs. 6 crores to establish well-equipped control rooms in four cities of Odisha, which include Cuttack, Sambalpur, Rourkela and Berhampur.
Berhampur Superintendent of Police, Sarthak Sadangi, informed, "Rs. 1.5 crores have been sanctioned for making a modern control room in Berhampur. Work will start after tender procedures are completed by the Police Housing Corporation. Communication will be much faster after the control room is developed."
The control room will be equipped with hi-tech equipment.15 telephone lines and LED screen will also be installed. The establishment of control rooms in the cities will help police curb crime rates.
