BERHAMPUR: A state-level yoga competition was held in the SK Mandap in the city. It was organised by the UR Foundation to promote yoga among the youngsters. Participants from 18 districts of Orissa took part in the competition. The competition was meant for children above the age of six years. More than 300 children participated in this tournament. They were divided into six groups as per age and skill. Before the start of competition the participants took out a rally to promote yoga among the city dwellers. A large crowd of yoga enthusiasts had gathered up to witness the yogic skills of youngsters. Some of the participants enthralled the audience by their extreme flexibility of the body. Many participants also performed asanas hanging to ropes. A panel of judges assessed performance of participants. The organizers declared that they are planning to hold a national-level Yogasana competition in the city in near future.
